avahi-utils software package provides Avahi browsing, publishing and discovery utilities, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install avahi-utils
avahi-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the avahi-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep avahi-utils *
You will get with avahi-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
